When:
Thursday, August 25th 3:00-9:00 pm
Friday, August 26th 3:00-9:00 pm
Saturday, August 27th 10:00 am-9:00 pm.

Where:
Thursday and Friday: Reitz Union Room 2320
Saturday: Reitz Union Room 2360

COVID-19 Safety:
We ask that everyone who attends auditions is cleared for campus and we recommend being vaccinated. All members of the Sedoctaves are required to have an updated vaccination status.
To Prepare:
Choose a verse and chorus from a song of your choosing that shows off your voice and personality. You may not have any musical accompaniment, in other words, you will sing it a cappella. Also prepare to sing scales and match pitches to test your range. Please avoid musical theater.
What We Are Looking For:
We are looking for all types of voices and percussion, but would particularly love to have some sopranos and lady basses come out to auditions!
The Process:

During auditions, you will meet with the President, Vice President, Music Director and Performance Director. You will then warm up, pitch match, and perform a part of your chosen song.
Hearing Back:

Decisions about membership will be made after auditions and callbacks are complete. You will receive an email within the next few days if you have been invited to join our sisterhood!
We can't wait to meet you!
.
When and Where: Sunday, August 28th starting at 6:30 pm in Reitz Union Room 2360

If you are brought for callbacks, you will meet all of Sedocs! During this time we will mingle and get to know you, and allow you to get to know us! We will then proceed with the musical part of the audition. This includes a solo -- please prepare a different solo from your first audition. You will then be placed in a voice part and taught a section of one of our general rep songs, and asked to perform it in a quartet-style. Plan to stay for the full three hours, although we may finish sooner.

If you have a special circumstance and need time accommodations, please email us at thesedoctaves@gmail.com and let us know.
Our Mission
The Sedoctaves are an all treble voice a cappella group that exists as a family of hard-working and empowered performers. Coming from a variety of majors, they are united by their love for music and seek to inspire others with their originally crafted pieces, captivating performance, and positive attitude.
We are also a tight knit family and we love and support each other through thick and thin!

What we do
The Sedoctaves are well known around Gainesville for performing at fundraisers, athletic events, and competing each year at ICCA. The Sedoctaves are a competitive group who travels to festivals, conferences, workshops, and competitions. The Sedocs are a part of the UF a cappella community and have socials with other UF groups, as well as host other groups from universities around the US.
FAQ:
Will I be expected to sight read?
No! We learn music in many different ways to adjust to the needs and learning styles of each member.
How will you know that I'm coming?
Click on the "SIGN UP" tab and follow the link to secure an audition spot.
Can I still audition if I can't come during a given audition day?
Absolutely! We want to hear each and every voice, so email us at thesedoctaves@gmail.com to set up an audition time that works for you.
What if I've never been in an a cappella group before?
That's okay! We appreciate any and all musical experience, whether that is musical theater, chorus, or another performing arts group.
