Auditions:
To Prepare:
Choose a verse and chorus from a song of your choosing (a cappella, of course!) that shows off your voice and personality. Be prepared to sing scales and match pitches to test your range as well! Please avoid musical theater.
The Process:
During auditions, you will meet individually with our President, Vice President, and Music Director. During this time, we will mingle and get to know you, and allow you to get to know us! We will then proceed with the musical part of the audition.
Hearing Back:
Decisions about callbacks will be made after auditions are complete on August 25th. You will receive and email that evening if you have been invited back!

Callbacks:
When and Where: Monday, August 25th starting at 6:30 pm in Reitz Union 2320
To Prepare:
Get ready to sing the verse and chorus of your original audition song, or a new song of your choosing! Make sure you show off your voice and performance ability! You've been called back, so you've impressed us already!
The Process:
During callbacks, you will meet all of the current Sedoctaves! We will start with a time to mingle to allow everybody to get comfortable and get to know each other. Next, each woman will sing her audition piece in front of the current Sedoctaves and the other women auditioning. Afterwards, you will be split into voice parts, and a current Sedoc will teach you a section of one of our songs. You and three other women will sing it as a quartet in front of the current group to test your learning ability and blend.
Decisions:
The Sedoctaves will decide as a group who we feel is the best fit to join our family! Final decisions will be made by the following day at
12:00 p.m. If you have been accepted, you will be notified via phone call or email..
If you have a special circumstance and need time accommodations, please email us at [email protected] and let us know.
