Auditions for the 2016-2017 school year are here!
Follow us on Facebook for updates about The Sedoctaves auditions in Fall 2017!!!
What happens in auditions?
You will meet individually with our Music Director, Assistant Music Director, and Performance Director. During this time, you will be asked to sing scales to test your range and match pitches. You will also sing the verse and chorus from a song of your choosing (a cappella, of course!) that shows off your voice.
Choose a contemporary song that shows off your vocal style, (avoid Disney, musical theater, and choral pieces).
What should I know about callbacks?
During callbacks, you will sing a second song in front of the current Sedoctaves, as well as the other girls auditioning. You've been called back, so you impressed us already. You will then be split into voice parts, and a current Sedoctave will teach you a section of one of our songs. You and three other girls will sing it as a quartet in front of the current group to test your learning ability and blend. We will also be looking for girls with *performance quality*.
How are new members chosen?
The Sedoctaves work together to decide which girls we feel are the best fit to join our family!
How will we know if we recieved a callback and/or made it into the group?
You will be notified by e-mail of any information regarding callbacks and admissions.
